New UNDRR report finds broken risk perception is reversing global progress in a ‘spiral of self-destruction’

The world could undo social and economic advances and face 1.5 disasters a day by 2030, according to the new Global Assessment Report (GAR2022), released this week by ICMIF partner organisation the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR).

The report says human activity and behaviour is contributing to an increasing number of disasters across the world, putting millions of lives and every social and economic gain in danger.
